Best. Service. Ever.
I wish you could have been here at Grace with us this weekend. I’m exhausted, I’m fighting a thrown out back, and my voice is raw, but the way in which God showed up at our Church was amazing. I preached and led worship again, this time focusing in on corporate [...]

I’ve been working on a song the last few weeks, and it’s in a good enough state to begin to share with you and hopefully get some feedback on.
In doing some study and some listening to other worship leaders and song writers in preparation for a song writing breakout I taught at reFOCUS conference, I [...]

Another Sunday, another service at Grace Church! We are continuing through our series about worship called Worship Wars. This week Mike Watson spoke about hypocrisy. God doesn’t like lip service in our worship–in fact, he finds it detestable. It was a tough one, but a good one.
It’s the third week of the [...]

Yesterday I wrote about musical preferences–If you haven’t checked it out, you can find it here. My main point was that we need to stop holding on to a certain style of music or a certain set of songs as the most God honoring way to worship, both in the traditional and the contemporary. [...]

“What is wrong with the inspiring hymns with which we grew up? When I go to church, it is to worship God, not to be distracted with learning a new hymn. Last Sunday’s was particularly unnerving. The tune was un-singable and the new harmonies were quite distorting.”
I tend to get notes like the [...]

Phew! Ok, so I led worship and preached this weekend at all three services, a pretty monumental task I must say, but one that I asked for. It has been so sweet diving into a five week series on the topic of worship. I had things to say today that were not [...]

The band and I spent last weekend out in Williamsport PA, leading worship for a group of senior high students out at First United Methodist Church. It was a great two days as we led worship three times and got to spend some time with students and bonding as a band.
Williamsport was about a four [...]

Someone who goes to Grace was musing about a song we sang yesterday called “You Won’t Relent”, by Misty Edwards. The lyrics of the song are as follows:
You won’t relent
Until You have it all
My heart is Yours
I’ll set You as a seal upon my heart
As a seal upon my arm
For there is love that [...]

I just got home tonight at midnight after a long but satisfying day. The first part of it was spent at Grace, leading worship for our morning services and then for our senior high students. After that Rachel and I wound down by hanging out with some dear friends. It’s been a [...]

I’m heading to Williamsport PA to lead worship for Spencer Sweeting’s youth retreat today out at First Methodist Church of Williamsport. It’s our first major out of town oppourtunity to lead as the band. Should be a fun road trip. We’ll be getting back really late Saturday night/Sunday morning, and then getting right back up [...]
